Reaching New People with the Gospel
We have recently got some new projectors from China, they are not yet in sale and so small you can carry them in your pocket. These are small projectors with 8 GB memory that can work detached from computers. We can load in the Jesus film or other presentations and show it in the mountains where there is no electrical power. The battery lasts for 4 hours and can be charged with a solar charger.
There are great joys in the villages, both in Mindoro and in Mindanao, when they see a film for the first time in their lives. We are using the Jesus film from the gospel of Luke.
I got this report from Santie that works among the Mangyans in Mindoro: “People are so moved when seeing the Jesus film. They were crying and giving thanks to the Lord for his marvelous love for them. Sometimes I stopped the film and explained to them the gospel and the way of salvation. It is the first time for many of them to even see a movie. This is a wonderful help to our Mangyan brethrens.”
Joel sent me this report from Mindanao yesterday: “Praise the Lord! I did my first film showing yesterday! We went to the village of Sinawaran to show it to the church there. I give thanks to the Lord because it really helped the people, especially the new believers, to understand more the love and passion Christ have for the world.
“After the showing I spent time to explain to them the importance of understanding and receiving the message. Then we praised the Lord together before we left for home. All the people in the community are really happy, since this is the first time they have a film showing in their village. I have scheduled two other communities next Friday. To God be the glory!”
The cost for each unit (projector, loudspeaker and charger) is $300. We are excited about this new tool to share the gospel to even more remote areas.
