Richard joined King’s Church as a university student back in 1994. He says he knew from the first time he met with the church that he’d found where he belonged. It was here in King’s Church that Richard met and married his wife, Judith, and together they now have three children. Richard grew steadily in his gifting and calling and joined the eldership team in the year 2000. He has led the team since 2004 and has since been recognised as having an apostolic ministry. This is outworked in churches in Salford and Liverpool as well as here in King’s Church. Richard and Judith have a real passion for the Kingdom of God. They long for a mature and radical church who knows she’s sent in the love, authority and power of Jesus to make him famous to the ends of the earth.
Kofo and his wife, Yetunde, both grew up in Nigeria. Yetunde moved to Manchester and became a member of King’s Church and Kofo came to join her here after they were married in 1997. They now have four children. Kofo has a strong pastoral gifting and loves to help people grow in their relationship with God. He is committed to discipleship and seeks to help church members become established in their calling.
Dave is a gifted and passionate teacher of God’s Word. He has served God faithfully in a number of contexts including working for ten years with the church in the Congo. It was in the Congo that Dave met his wife, Philippa. Since returning to the UK Dave has worked both in a local school teaching French and full time for the church. Since his recognition as an elder in 1994, he has consistently shown that leadership and ministry are not defined by title or paid position. As well as teaching and equipping within the church, Dave currently serves as the Principal of Covenant School of Ministries: School of the Word (click here to visit the college’s website). Dave and Philippa have three children.
Jem arrived as a student in Manchester in 1987. From the very first week, God made it clear to him that this church was to be his family and with them he should seize the vision to extend Jesus’ rule and reign throughout the city and beyond. He met Rachel in 1991, they married soon after and now have five children. Jem and Rachel have a passionate desire for the church to achieve everything that God intends and love to see Christians demonstrate the results of their faith as part of their practical, everyday lives. Jem works for the University of Sheffield as a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. He was recognised an elder in Kings Church in 2010.
Nathan and his wife Laura are born and bred Mancunians and became part of the church in 1997 when they decided to follow Jesus. They are passionate about the city of Manchester and long for it to know more of the supernatural love and power of Jesus. They got married in 2004 and now have two young children. Nathan joined the team of elders in 2010.
Born and bred in Bradford, Gavin came to Manchester in 1995 to study architecture. King’s Church quickly became his home and he has been very actively involved ever since. Gavin joined the eldership team in 2004 with a particular passion to help the church make Jesus famous in the workplace and in the community. He also oversees the church’s administration and finance teams on behalf of the elders. Gavin is married to Rachel and they have two children.
