We have the Victory!

Sometimes when things are hard it feels like we’re being attacked from all sides. The enemy may try to attack you from every side possible, and you are left feeling as though you haven’t got the strength to fight. But that’s because you’re not meant to be the one fighting; Jesus already has the victory. The enemy will not and cannot win! You are protected by the blood of Jesus: ‘by this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me’ (Psalm 41:11).

Remember who you are, and remember who is in control. Focus on Jesus and don’t be lead astray by the lies the enemy tells you, as he desires more than anything to lead you. When Satan knows you are destined for great things he will do everything in his power to prevent you from fulfilling it. But when the Lord goes before you, the enemy has to get behind you. Let us declare in the hard times: ‘Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me’ (Micah 7:8).

We have everything already to win our battles: the armour of God. For our battles, we have the belt of truth, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and the word of God as our sword (Ephesians 6:14-7). We must also remember, when it comes to disunity and arguments between people, that ‘our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms’ (Ephesians 6:12). Even in this we are destined to be overcomers through Jesus Christ!
